Getting Started

DO YOU NEED A PRESCRIPTION TO GET  STARTED?

 

You do not need a doctor’s prescription to see a Physical Therapist at HTC Physical Therapy in TX.  You can be treated by a Physical therapist for 10 business days without a physician’s prescription. Beyond this period, you are able to continue with Physical Therapy only after having received an in-person examination and approval of your Physical Therapist’s plan of care by your physician.

 

 

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR FIRST VISIT

Your first therapy visit will be 45 minutes to an hour. You will meet your therapist, who will perform a detailed exam. Depending on your symptoms and condition, your physical therapist may evaluate your Strength, Flexibility, Posture, Balance, and Coordination. After the assessment, your physical therapist will create a treatment plan for your specific condition and goals and also provide you a home workout plans that are most likely to help you. Your therapist will determine how often you will need to attend therapy.

You should arrive 15 minutes early so that the front office staff can organize your paperwork and make the necessary copies of your insurance cards.

We are a Medicare provider. We accept other private insurance too. As a courtesy to our patients, we will verify your benefits for therapy services.

If you don’t have insurance no worries, we also have a variety of private pay sessions and membership plans.

• Driver’s License

• Prescription from your physician for therapy services (if applicable)

 

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO WEAR

​

• Loose and comfortable clothing

• Appropriate shoes for exercising.

 

CANCELLATION POLICY

​

We would appreciate 24-hour notice if you need to cancel an appointment so that we may open your appointment time to other patients. If you cancel with less than 24-hour notice, we will waive the fee for the first missed appointment, charge you half the cost of the visit for the second missed appointment, and the full cost of the visit for any missed appointments thereafter.
